Creating Custom Home Renovations for Decades

At Doyle Design & Build, helping people turn their home renovations dreams into reality is simply a part of our DNA. Our founder, Neil Doyle, has spent most of his life building things. His dad was in the construction business and used to take Neil to jobsites with him as a lad—there are family albums with pictures of a 5-year-old Neil with a hammer in his hand.

Neil’s dad taught the value of hard work at an early age, but he also taught him the importance of doing the job well. As soon as he was old enough to be of value on a project, Neil joined his dad on the job, working alongside him through most of his teenage years, learning the tools and tricks of the trade.

At the age of 19, though, after being told by his teachers in the construction training program at the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) that he knew more than they could teach him, Neil decided it was time to strike out on his own. He’s been designing and building custom home renovations ever since.

In our decades in business, we have always taken a “hands-on” approach. Our customers have repeatedly told us (and others) that they don’t worry when we’re on the job, because they know that when they hire Neil, they’ll get Neil. When you hire us, we’ll be there on a regular basis, paying close attention to even the smallest details. We’ll either do most of the work ourselves, or we’ll closely monitor the craftsmanship of any subcontractors we hire, so that the finished product meets or exceeds your expectations. Because of our reputation for every aspect of a project, virtually all of our new business comes to us through referrals.

Because of our hands-on approach, we can help you at every stage of a project. Don’t worry if you have little more than a vague idea of what you want. We’ll brainstorm with you about the ways to turn your dreams into reality. Once construction begins, we’ll oversee everything, typically handling most of the work ourselves. When specialists are required, we’ll work closely with them to ensure that you get exactly what you want.
